Squid Game season 2 build time

Regarding the plan to make Squid Game season 2, Dong-hyuk said, he would need help from several parties. Previously, Dong-hyuk wrote and submitted each of his ideas by himself on every episode of Squid Game.

“I don’t have well-developed plans for ‘Squid Game 2’. It’s quite tiring just thinking about it. But if I did, I definitely wouldn’t do it myself,” said Dong-hyuk.

“I would consider using the writer’s room and would like a lot of experienced directors,” he continued.

Then, Dong-hyun reveals about one potential idea for season 2 that involves a new focus on the police, as well as using Frontman. He explained that he plans to add the story of Frontman (a former police officer who is now overseeing the game) in season 2.

Currently, Dong-hyun is still considering and season 2 is still not formed what it will be like. He said that he is currently quite busy, because there is a film that he really wants to make.

Regarding the timeline or progress of making season 2, Dong-hyun estimates that it will take more than a year to work on the continuation of this series. Because, he is still drafting the continuation of the new season. “So it could be 18 months, or 2 years, I wouldn’t rule it out, but it would be big.”
