Late last year the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has closed the end of Phase 4 of the MCU quite well. Where the film featuring Shuri (Letitia Wright) as Black Panther recently managed to rank sixth as the highest-grossing film in 2022. Interestingly, even though the film tribute to T’Challa and the late Chadwick Boseman is still fresh in the minds of fans, Letitia Wright recently revealed that he felt that the Black Panther 3 film had already begun to be worked on by Marvel.
The last time we saw Shuri’s character was when she was finally able to let go of all the sorrows that had bound her in the Wakanda Forever credit scene. At this point it’s pretty clear that he’ll be carrying on the legacy of his late brother T’Challa as the new Black Panther in the MCU. Meanwhile, it seems that Wakanda will be left entirely in the hands of M’Baku (Winston Duke) and his tribal elders. On the other hand, the richest and most powerful country on Earth has also forged a fairly strong alliance with the Talokan undersea nation, especially Namor (Tenoch Huerta).
Now, in her latest interview with Variety while attending the Golden Globe Awards, British Guiana actress Letitia Wright has revealed that the new Black Panther adventure in the MCU will continue. He even claims that currently Marvel Studios has started working on the development of the Black Panther 3 film. “I think it’s already in the works (Black Panther 3)… it might take some time, but [I’m] very happy that you will be able to see it later,” said Wright.
In line with Wright, some time ago the director of Wakanda Forever Ryan Coogler has also revealed that the Black Panther franchise is still not finished. Furthermore he even said he still really wants to be involved as long as possible with the franchise. “I hope this continues. I hope people are still making movies about Wakanda even after we’re gone,” Coogler told The New York Times.
So far, Marvel Studios itself has actually not issued an official announcement regarding the film Black Panther 3. Even so, at least for now we know that the enthusiasm of the main actor and director of Black Panther is still very high. That way, we’re just a matter of time until Marvel Studios finally finds the right time to announce and even release the film Black Panther 3 in the future.
