12 Types of Dinosaurs That Appeared in Jurassic World: Dominion (2022)

Jurassic World: Dominion movie gives more dinosaur appearances, both in terms of numbers and appearance throughout the film. Since the beginning of the film’s opening, dinosaurs have appeared to perform various actions, ranging from eating fisherman’s catch to running with Owen’s horse. Well, here are 12 types dinosaurs and other animals that appeared in Jurassic World: Dominion.

1. Tyrannosaurus Rex

The T-Rex is probably the most popular type of dinosaur from the Jurassic Park franchise. There’s no moment more iconic than seeing things vibrate and the characters frown in horror at the thought of a T-Rex walking up to them. This clan of Theropod dinosaurs (with hollow bones and three toes) still appears in Dominion, though not as much as in the previous films.

2. Velociraptor

Remember Blue in Jurassic World, coached by Owen (Chris Pratt)? He is a type of velociraptor that looks like a T-Rex, only smaller. Blue will still appear in Dominion. He even has a son named Beta.

Velociraptor is a Dromaeosaurid Theropod dinosaur which means that it actually had feathers in its original form. They are also usually no bigger than a turkey. Although the picture in the film is not the same, but the intelligence of the velociraptor in the film is depicted appropriately.

3. Nasutoceratops

Herds of dinosaurs from the Triceratops family have appeared frequently in this franchise, both the Jurassic Park trilogy and Jurassic World. However, the new type of nasutoceratops will first appear in Jurassic World: Dominion. Nasutoceratops was a herbivore, but its rhinocerose-like appearance with sturdy horns would still scare anyone. Especially if he hits a vehicle like in the movie.

4. Pteranodon

This is an animal that can fly, but is not actually a dinosaur. More precisely, they were part of the pterosaurs or reptiles that could fly. In Dominion, he is seen appearing when Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) falls from a height, and this creature passes by her.

5. Dilophosaurus

Dilophosaurus was an iconic breed in Jurassic Park, and it will appear again in Dominion. Actually, their real look is bigger than depicted in the movie. Even so, his figure was not as scary as shown because the dilophosaurus actually couldn’t spit poison from its mouth and couldn’t stretch its neck.

6. Therizinosaurus

This includes the dinosaurs that first appeared in Jurassic World: Dominion. He is part of the Indominus Rex family, and his true form is difficult to determine due to incomplete information. However, so far it is believed that he was very large, had sparse fur, a beak, and had a very small skull. This dinosaur made Claire have to hide in the river so as not to be detected by the creature.

7. Apatosaurus

This one is the type of dinosaur that appears most often in dinosaur films. In contrast to other scary dinosaur images, apatosaurus always displays an elegant and calming image. Viewers even felt sorry for this herbivore when he was eaten by Indominus Rex in the previous film.

8. Dreadnoughtus

Dreadnoughtus is another type of dinosaur that made its first appearance in the Jurassic Park franchise. In Dominion, it looks like an apatosaurus. It is a type of herbivore, also the largest land vertebrate known.

9. Quetzalcoatlus

Quetzalcoatlus also just debuted in this film franchise. It is one of the largest animals that can fly. The neck is also very long. But it turned out to be a quetzalcoatlus. Originally, the size of the quetzalcoatlus was the size of a small plane.

10. Mosasaurus

Mosasaurus was actually not a dinosaur, but a large Aquatic Squamate reptile. He appears as an opener for Dominion, which eats fish that fishermen take. Although it can grow to 18 meters, but its size in this film is exaggerated.

11. Parasaurolophus

Parasaurolophus was a unique herbivore in that it could walk on both two and four legs. He also has a kind of horn or a very unique headdress, which is thought to help him communicate and hear. In Jurassic Park: Dominion, this animal is described as tame enough to be able to run with Owen on horseback. Owen could even touch his face so tame.

12. Atrociraptor

This one is also a new breed in Dominion. Viewers get to see him in one of the film’s most thrilling action scenes, when he consistently chases after a speeding Owen on his motorbike.
